Light earthquake

Residents in the north reported Monday on an earthquake in the Galilee region. The Geophysical Institute confirmed the reports and later said it had measured 3.1 on the Richter scale.

The person on call at the Institute noted that after the reports were received, she called the team which measures the strength of the quake and locates its epicenter. Dr. Rami Hofstetter, head of the Geophysical Institute''s Seismological Division, said the epicenter was around Kibbutz Yiron in the Upper Galilee. - Source

200 Military Physicians Oppose Abortions

More than 200 physicians who have served U.S. soldiers have signed a letter to members of the Senate protesting a Senate bill amendment that would turn U.S. military base hospitals into abortion centers.

The amendment, sponsored by pro-abortion Sen. Rolland Burris of Illinois, would have the military break with current longstanding policy disallowing abortions. - Source

Florida death toll rises

Four Florida residents have died from a mosquito-borne disease that normally afflicts horses, health officials reported on Tuesday as the swampy state enters peak season for mosquito-borne illnesses.

Health officials said last month that two Tampa-area residents had died from eastern equine encephalitis, a viral disease that inflames the brain.

Two additional deaths from the disease known as EEE have since been confirmed, one in the state capital of Tallahassee and one in the northwest Florida town of Sopchoppy.

The disease mostly affects unvaccinated horses but a handful of human deaths are recorded each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There is no human vaccine for the disease, which kills a third of its human victims and often leaves survivors with significant brain damage. - Source

Niger hunger

Niger is now facing the worst hunger crisis in its history, the UN's World Food Programme says, with almost half the population - or 7.3 million people - in desperate need of food.

A WFP spokesman said villagers in Niger described the situation as worse than 2005, when thousands died of hunger.

After a prolonged drought, heavy rains have now hit parts of the country, killing at least six people. - Source

New superbug

At least two Canadians have been infected by a new superbug that defies treatment and could spread rapidly around the world, a leading Canadian medical microbiologist says.

The new superbug starts with a new gene, NDM-1, that secretes an enzyme that blocks almost all antibiotics from fighting certain bacteria, including the common E coli. - Source  Source 2

Ecuador earthquake

A powerful earthquake shook the South American nation of Ecuador on Thursday, but there were only scattered reports of damage or injury.

The magnitude-7.1 quake that hit at 6:54 a.m. was felt across much of the nation, including the capital, Quito.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered 110 miles southeast of Quito. But it was also very deep — 131 miles below the surface — a distance that might have blunted its damage. - Source

China landslide

More than 700 people are now known to have died in a massive landslide in north-west China - making it one of the deadliest incidents so far in the country's worst flooding in a decade.

A frantic search is continuing for the more than 1,000 people still missing.

Buildings were hit by a wall of mud so mighty that buildings seven storeys high crumpled like paper, says the BBC's Chris Hogg, in Gansu province.

He says rescuers are searching by hand in the remote, mountainous region.

A 52-year-old man was pulled alive from the rubble more than 50 hours after the disaster, and other rescue teams say they have heard "very faint" signs of life elsewhere, state media reported. - Source

Higher prices for food

The world faces an inflationary time bomb as shortages of food threaten to push prices to fresh all-time highs.

A variety of freakish weather conditions across the world has sent the price of staples including wheat, pork, rice, orange juice, coffee, cocoa and tea to fresh highs in recent weeks. Yesterday's decision by the Russian government to ban the export of wheat to protect home consumers saw grain prices jump 8 per cent on the day, on what was already a two-year high. Meanwhile, the burgeoning demand for foodstuffs and raw material growth in the resurgent economies of China and India has also driven oil, copper and other industrial commodities higher.- Source

"Christ" Apparition

St Paul’s Catholic Church along Airport Road in Benin City, yesterday, turned into a mecca of sorts as people from all walks of life thronged the church to catch a glimpse of what has been literally described as an apparition of Jesus Christ.

The uncommon phenomenon according to catholic faithful and enthusiasts present at the church premises, came up early Wednesday morning immediately after the offering of adoration at the church. It has however generated so much frenzy amongst catholic faithful and non-Catholics who jostled through the ever-busy Airport Road in the state capital to witness the rare spiritual occurrence. - Source

Peru - Bubonic Plague

The disease that decimated Europe in the Middle Ages is alive and well in Peru, health officials say an outbreak in the north has killed a 14-year-old boy and infected at least 30 other people. Twenty-five of the cases are bubonic plague, spread by fleas, and the others are pneumonic plague, spread airborne. The disease is curable with antibiotics if symptoms are detected early enough.- Source

War and rumors of war

Renewed fighting in Mogadishu and other areas of Somalia since May 2009 has displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians and also exacerbated the already desperate humanitarian situation of existing internally displaced people (IDPs), in particular the children and women among them. About 200,000 people have been displaced since January 2010, in addition to the estimated 1.5 million who remained displaced at the end of 2009. In Somaliland, thousands of families were displaced as a result of fighting between government forces and a new rebel group. - Source

Year in wife's laundry prison

An 80-year-old Frenchman was recovering in a state of shock in hospital on Saturday after being freed from a year locked in a laundry room by a wife half his age and her alleged lover.

A judicial source told AFP the man was conscious and lucid in hospital but did not yet want to speak to anyone.
"The victim suffered violence and ill-treatment," local gendarme commander Bruno Arviset told journalists. "The man ate twice a day, mostly pastries that were past their sell-by date."

His wife, 45, was jailed on Saturday pending trial after being charged with physical abuse, illegal detention and taking advantage of a vulnerable person, a judicial source said. Her alleged lover and her son have been released on bail after being charged with complicity with kidnapping and failing to report the abuse.

Investigators suspect the man's family had a financial motive as around 500,000 euros (650,000 dollars) had been taken from the man's bank accounts in recent months.

Rise in troop suicides

With the US stretched militarily as it fights wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the report commissioned by the army's vice-chief of staff, General Peter Chiarelli, found the suicide rate among soldiers had jumped to record levels, surpassing the civilian rate.

Last year, there were 160 suicides among soldiers on active duty, putting the army suicide rate at 20.2 per 100,000. The US national average is 19.2. The study, commissioned by General Chiarelli, also reported 1713 suicide attempts last year and 146 deaths caused by high-risk behavior such as drug abuse and drunk driving.

Most of the suicides occurred when soldiers were in the US, either before a deployment or after returning.
According to the report, the number of suicides has increased steadily since 2004. Also on the increase among soldiers has been the use of prescription drugs such as anti-depressants and painkillers.

Matthew 24

1 And Jesus went out and departed from the temple. And His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (1)
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (2)
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars (3): see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation(4), and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines(5), and pestilences(6), and earthquakes(7), in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted(8), and shall kill you(9): and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake(10).
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many(11).
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax (grow) cold(12) (13).
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened(14)

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not(15).
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Therefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were(16), so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark(17),
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man comes.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Hola!

Hello!

There are many links and news sources and some are better than others. However, not many show how truthful and prophetic the WORD of GOD truly is. The main purpose of this site is to show how on point and revealing the Holy Bible truly is.

I felt led to use Matthew 24 as my base. I will post articles from many sources and link them to this verse. JESUS gave a lot of info here but it is not the only place where HE gave prophecy.

Join me on this journey and see how alive the Word of GOD really is! Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free!

Blessings,

F L M
